IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR CLIENTS FROM EUROPE
If you are interested in adopting from Ukraine through our team, please, contact us ASAP. Since we are taking the limited number of clients, we've already opened our waiting list-2007.
1. At least one parent must be a citizen of your home country.
2. The only restriction is that parents must be at least 15 years older than the child. There is no age limit, but most parents should be between 30 and 55 years old.
3.Single parents are OK, but they will need to provide the evidence of a good, stable situation.
4. Previously divorced is fine too, but the evidence of a good and stable situation is needed.
5.Married again? Lovely. Any proof of your stable situation is needed.
6. Must have approval from your government to adopt (lots of paperwork but read on, we explain how it should be done.
HOMESTUDY AND THE ADOPTION DOSSIER

Please, note, that your Home Study should be performed specially for international adoption. Usually it takes only 2 months to get this document done, it also depends on the country.
Your social worker will provide you a list of documents that you must obtain to complete your Homestudy:
Criminal record
Birth Certificates (for both parents)
Marriage license (for current marriage) Divorce decree (if divorced)
Proof of home ownership or secure rental
Employment verification
Financial records
Health insurance information
Medical statements
(parents and all other members of the household)
D O C U M E N T S
The Ukrainian Government requires that parents put together a "DOSSIER". This group of documents is approximately the same regardless of the country of origin, and it includes the following:
* Homestudy
*Photocopy of the license of whoever does the Homestudy.
*Birth Certificates of parent (s)
* Marriage Certificate (if married couple)
*Proof of Accommodation (Mortgage,Deed or Lease)
*BCIS (formerly INS) Approval (I-171H form)
*Photocopies of bearer's information of parent(s) passports
*Power of Attorney
*Post Placement Agreement
*Petition to the National Adoption Center of Ukraine
*Extract of the Adoption Law from your home area
Each of the above papers has a specific format. Some must be notarized,some must have additional verification. Most of the documentation can be arranged simultaneously, for example, the BCIS's approval and Homestudy. A lot from the rest of the "paperchase" can also be done at the sometime. Each document must be legalized by Ukrainian Embassy in USA.
